Data from "Tank Frame Locomotives", Record of Recent Construction #93 (Baldwin Locomotive Works, 1918), p. 8. See also DeGolyer, Volume 63, pp. 169+. Works number was 42771 in December 1915.
See Locobase 10996 for a short description of this small tank-engine design sold to several industrial, mining, and agricultural companies.
This engine was designed for rails weighing 14 lb/yard (7 kg/metre), grades of 3%, and curves radii down to 198 ft (60.3 m) or 29 degrees. It operated on a sugar plantation railway in Queensland, but burned soft coal and thus exhausted through a slender, straight stack.
