Data from [], last accessed 5 July 2004. 394 locomotives of very similar design were delivered by Parent Schaken, Pietrasa, Neilson, and Cail. They took 4 forms that differed in several respects, but were essentially alike in their power dimensions and even their size.
The small passenger locomotives in the current entry were supplied to the Rete Sicula (the Sicilian Net), as the SF della Sicilia. They divided into 3 subgroups, but the differences were minor length and height dimensions. Their speed rating was a greyhound-like 70 km/h (43 mph).
The RS was formed from several Sicilian railways in 1885. For the next 20 years, says the RS website, the new management rationalized the network, added 583 route km, and improved maintenance. The Ferrovie dello Stato took over the RS in 1905.
By 1905, 7 were left in service, all at Palermo. Once they were taken into the FS, they were combined with other 2-4-0s of the same design under the Gruppo 120.
