Data from WilliamBay, Danmarks Damplokomotiver (1977). Photos from the Danish Damplokomotiver hos DSB ([]) show a stubby Crampton-type locomotive with outside Allan valve gear.
Data from William Bay, Danmarks Damplokomotiver (1977). Works numbers were 553-554 in 1854.
According to the Danish Damplokomotiver hos DSB ([]), these two engines (Skirner and Vidar) were part of the Thor class of a year earlier. Bay divides them into two. Bay's Thor class would be made up of Thor, Njord, Baldur, and Fenris. Like all single-axle Cramptons, these engines has the single driver behind the firebox to keep the boiler pitched low.
Drivers in this pair stood a full 12" (305 mm) taller.
Data from WilliamBay, Danmarks Damplokomotiver (1977). Works numbers were 555-556 in 1854 and 557-558 in 1855.
According to the Danish Damplokomotiver hos DSB ([]), the Thors and the later Skirners could be seen as one class of Crampton-type locomotive.
Bay divides them into two. Bay's Thor class would be made up of Thor, Njord, Baldur, and Fenris. Like all single-axle Cramptons, these engines has the single driver behind the firebox to keep the boiler pitched low.
