Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 49, p. 175. See also Martin Coombs, Chilean steam locomotive lists, Part 1, Broad gauge locos (v2.64, March 2026), pp. 227-229 at []. Works numbers were 783-784 in 1953
Although the order may seem a bit late in the steam era, this Prairie duo illustrates all the gains that might be had by putting a trailing truck under the firebox. Compared to the decades-earlier -6-0s (Locobase 13989, Locobase 13127, Locobase 11417), all heating surface areas increased, sizable superheater, and heavier axle loading. A blurry image in a film seemed to show road number 55.
