Class Ardilla/Tipo 11 (Locobase 21348)

Martin Coombs wrote that the "Squirrel" first came on the FCSV as a Sturrock tender fitted with a steam booster.


Class Tipo 53 (Locobase 21048)

This quintet of long-stroke six-coupleds may have not been fully satisfactory as all of them were listed as withdrawn in 1923. Perhaps their relatively small size for goods engines on the broad gauge proved telling.

A 1928 roster described them as "obsolete or knocked-down [dismantled?]. Coombs reports 461 hauling tren 127 between Afquintue and Loncoche collided with Type 63 locomotive 616 on 11 November 1916; the crash caused fatalities..


Class Tipo-b (Locobase 21021)

A 1912 request for bids on six Tipo-bs to join three produced by Henschel & Sohn in 1909 induced replies from Arnold Jung, Berliner Maschinenbau, Borsig, Henschel, Orenstein & Koppel, and American Locomotive Company. Jung won the contract, which was signed on 15 May 1912.

Their initial duties supported construction, but they soon appeared on the EFE (State Railway), where they served into the 1950s..
