Even the "bogie singles" that were delivered in 1910 (Locobase 2665) were overcome by the weight of the heaviest trains on the Shanghai-Nanking, so these Atlantics were delivered. The date is estimated. Unlike the single-wheelers, however, these engines were painted in an apple green.
The quartet retained the Belpaire firebox of the earlier singles, 4-4-0s, and 4-6-0s, but introduced superheating and inside piston valves. .
