Two veterans of this this Saarland steel company. See [] (August 2002) for data -- supplied by Rainer Veauthier -- and history. 20 (works #5143) was delivered on 7 May 1904; 21 (#5168) followed on 28 May.
After a new steel works was completed in the mid-1980s the old mill in Voelklinger were closed down. In 1999, the site, which had been designated a UNESCO cultural heritage location, was reopened.
A relatively large and certainly late-in-the-day industrial locomotive supplied to this Saarland steel company. See [] (August 2002) for data -- supplied by Rainer Veauthier -- and history. The locomotive spent its 18-year career shuttling pig iron from the blast furnaces to the steel mills.
After a new steel works was completed in the mid-1980s the old mill in Voelklinger were closed down. In 1999, the site, which had been designated a UNESCO cultural heritage location, was reopened and this locomotive was moved there.
