Data from [] . See Indra Krishnamurti at [] for building dates and numbers both of predecessor railways and the Indonesian State Railways.See also "Lokomotif D18" in Wikipedia at [], last accessed 13 August 2026. Two came from Esslingen (works numbers 3678-3679 in 1913), one from SLM (works number 2326 in 1913).
The Indonesian Wikipedia says there's very little information about these rack locomotives (the rack piston volume measured 450 x 480 mm/17.75" x 18.9"). This source reports (in Google's translation):"Records indicate that the D18 remained in operation until the 1960s. These locomotives were tasked with transporting Ombilin coal from Sawahlunto to the port of Emmahaven (Teluk Bayur)."
