Data from DeGolyer, Vol 72, pp. 258. See also some notes by James Hefner posted on 28 June 2005 on the Narrow Gauge Railroad Discussion Forum at [],61094,61214. Works number was 58239 in February 1925.
Pretty big articulated logger for the Cape gauge that served this lumber harvester on Negros Island. Its remit was to run on 60 lb/yard (30 kg/metre) rail up maximum grades of 5% and up 4% around 300 ft (91.4 metre or slightly more than 19 degrees) curves
Hefner's research indicates that this engine was regarded as something as a "widowmaker" during its years on Negros. "It was thought to be a haunted engine by it's [sic] crews because so many workers had killed by it in service. (One time, they lost control of it and rolled down an embankment taking a train loaded with lumber and workers with it. They had to retrieve it in sections.)"
