Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 051/0151 (Locobase 21307)

Data from 1947 Locomotive Cyclopedia (viewed 18 December 2004); supplemented by Ficha Technica de Locomotivas a Vapor, Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses; and "Locomotivas de Vapor de Via Larga"p. 74 , Posted by Guarda Freio at 18:01, 23 September 2018,, p.20 at

[], last accessed 25 January 2026 Works numbers were 4988-4993 in 1913, 5492 in 1914 and 5493 in 1915.

NB: If using the inside (fire side) diameter of 44 mm (1.73") in each tube, the tube heating surface measured 129.51 sq m (1,394 sq ft), which together with the firebox area, came to 1,526 sq ft of evaporative heating surface area. . Locobase uses the external diameters.

Class 851 (Locobase 957)

Data from 1947 Locomotive Cyclopedia (viewed 18 December 2004); supplemented by Ficha Technica de Locomotivas a Vapor, Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses; and "Locomotivas de Vapor de Via Larga"p. 34 , Posted by Guarda Freio at 18:01, 23 September 2018, at [], last accessed 25 January 2026 Works numbers in 73476-73495 in 1945

Essentially similar to the Indian State Railways AWD/CWD Mikados (Locobase 953) produced in the hundreds by Alco's Montreal Works and the Canadian Locomotive Company.
