#2 served the SMB until 1932, at which point she went to the Zurich gas works. In 1947, she was a works locomotive for Holzverzuckerungs AG Ems in Bnndnerland. Over a 65-year career, #2 amassed 686,015 miles in service.
Beginning in 1971, Fritz Lanz and Fritz Spichiger, Sr. of Langenthal began restoration work on #2. Their sons Markus and Fritz, Jr., respectively, joined the effort. #2 was fired again in 1984 and was operated off and on for the next couple of decades.
