The Algoma bought two "Santa Fe" type locomotives from the Canadian Locomotive Company in 1929 and gave them roads numbers 50 and 51. These two locomotives had 57" diameter drivers, 24" x 28" cylinders, a 250 psi boiler pressure, they exerted 60,125 pounds of tractive effort and each weighed 347,600 pounds. They had small boilers, a high boiler pressure and with a total heating surface of 4,910 square feet these locomotive operated well.
There are no surviving Algoma Central & Hudson Bay 2-10-2 "Santa Fe" type locomotives.
