Data from DeGolyer, Volume 73, pp.190. Works number was 57202 in September 1923.
Kanawha & Hocking Coal & Coke Company bought this locomotive for their not-to-be-confused-with-the-Kelley's Creek & Northwestern railroad (see Locobase 1311 for that road's Baldwin 2-8-0 ).The KCRR ran for 6.3 miles (10.1 km) from Cedar Grove to Mammoth in West Virginia. It opened in 1916.
The relatively large slide-valve Mikado rolled on 80 to 85 lb/yard (40 to 42.5 kg/metre) rail laid on sleepers 24" (610 mm) apart. It scaled 2 and 3 1/2% grades and ran around 18 degree curves.
The 12 later worked for the Warner Collieries company.
