Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Vol 71, pp 136+. Works numbers were 56141 in January 1923 and 57774 in April 1924.
The PL&W was a 27.35 mile (44 km) shortline that extended from Lisbon, Ohio to New Galilee, Pa, with a branch from the mines at Cannelton, Pa. The ICC's Valuation Report reproduced at [],_Lisbon_and_Western_Railroad, lists 11 previous corporate identities (the earliest being the e Darlington Cannel Coal Railroad in 1852) that eventually rolled up into the PL&W.
These Consolidations were purchased not long after the PL&W sought bids on new machinery to be installed in their New Galilee locomotive shop. But the railroad was heavily dependent on coal traffic. The PL&W's principal open-pit mine at Little Beaver Creek tapped out in 1930 and the railroad's future grew dimmer and dimmer. It was taken over by another Montour Railroad subsidiary Youngstown & Southern in 1945. Both of these Consolidations operated until 1951.
